Mary Rebecca Pugh

Mary Rebecca Pugh, age 69, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, surrounded by those that loved her, at the Palo Pinto Hospital in Mineral Wells, TX. She was born on January 5, 1955 in Bowie, TX to Floyd Holder and Lou Elsie (Burriss) Holder. She was a Baptist and was known by many for her excellent housekeeping in Strawn.

Mary married the love of her life and best friend, Freddie Don “Fred” Pugh, on December 1, 1972 in Graham, TX. Mary enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers and every Mother’s Day, her and her daughter Kim would buy each other Rose Bushes as a sign of their appreciation and love for each other. She enjoyed spending time with family and, loved the holidays and could make the best stuffing you ever tasted. Mary enjoyed sight-seeing and traveling, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and being able to spoil them. Although her family misses her dearly, Mary fought a hard fight since September and is resting in the arms of Jesus.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband: Fred Pugh of Strawn, TX; daughter: Kim Short of Mingus, brothers and sisters; grandchildren: Wesley Don Short and Rebecca Lynn Short; great-grandchild: Lillie Villanueva: numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She is reunited in Heaven with her parents: her precious daughter: Wendy Sue Snelson; her son-in-law (who was more of a son than son-in-law): James Short; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Mary’s wishes were to be cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn, TX.
