Mary N. Shannon

Mary N. Shannon, 87 of Eastland, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Eastland Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 12th at the Olden Baptist Church followed by burial in the Eastland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Monday, September 11th from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
Mary was born October 6, 1929 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Hugh L. Massey Sr. and Ola (Erwin) Massey. She married Joe L. Shannon on September 20, 2002 in Abilene. Mary was preceded in death by two husbands; J. H. Burum in 1950 and Joe B. Norton in 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, and one brother. Mary was a secretary in the oil industry and worked for White Well Service in Odessa.
Survivors include her husband, Joe L. Shannon of Morton Valley, Texas; two sons; Randy Burum and wife Sharon of Duncan, OK and Brad Norton of Odessa, TX; two brothers, Kenneth Massey of Georgetown, TX and Bill Massey of Leonard, TX; and one brother-in-law, Ray Christopher of Ft. Worth, TX.
