Melanie Susan Andrus

Melanie Susan Andrus, born July 7, 1950 to Nancy Ellen and Albert Allen Sanders, was called home to Heaven on June 3, 2023. She was 72.
Melanie was a graduate of Hondo High School in Hondo, Texas and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from UTSA Health Science Center in San Antonio. After devoting 35 years to the care of her patients, she retired with husband, David, to their country property in Ranger, Texas, where she spent her time gardening, enjoying time with family, and keeping up with latest in news and current events.
Melanie is survived by husband, David Glenn Andrus; daughters, Amanda Melanie Beighley (husband Chad, sons Sean & Caleb), Megan Rebecca Koch, and Vanessa Marie Haggard (daughters Sierra, Chloe & Madison); sister Rebecca Ann Bullard (husband Wayne); and nephews, Dennis Kyle White (wife Tina, son Tristan, daughter Trinity), and Brad Allen Ashby (wife Robynne, daughters Abigail & Annabelle).
She is preceded in death by her parents, Nancy Ellen & Albert Allen Sanders, brothers Kyle and Dennis Sanders, and son, John Strait.
Immediate and extended family members will be sharing memories and celebrating her life at a private family gathering later this month.
