Melissa Jean Jones, 42, of Nacogdoches, Texas went to be with our Lord November 12, 2013 in the comfort of her home with her loving family beside her.
Melissa was born February 3, 1971 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Michael Helmig and Jean Payne Hagood. She graduated from Springtown High School in 1989. Melissa worked for 13 years at the Westward Trails Nursing Home and then at Nabors Well Service for the last 7 years.
Melissa is survived by her dad: Michael Helmig and wife Janet; her mom: Jean Hagood and husband David; two sons: Aaron Helmig and Matthew Jones; two daughters: Brittany Summers and Tiffany Daniels; two brothers: Jason Mears and Denny Mears; two sisters: Lori Dunn and Lindsey Hagood; two grandchildren: Brylee Summers and John Daniels; her grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Helmig; a host of other relatives and many friends.
A visistation will be held 6-8 P.M. Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Melrose Baptist Church. The funeral will be 10: 00 A.M. Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Melrose Cemetery.
