Bedford - Mildred Warren Black, age 89, passed away on Wednesday December 19, 2012 in Bedford. Funeral Service will be Saturday December 22, 2012 at 2 pm at First Baptist Church in Ranger. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm at the funeral home.
Mildred was born on July 27, 1923 in Desdemona, Texas to John Wesley and Myrtle Dori(Parrish)Warren. She married Edgar Byron Black in Amarillo, Texas on January 1, 1943. They were married 35 years. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1978.
Mildred was a resident of Ranger, Texas from 1952 to 2009. From 2010 until her passing, she resided in Bedford, Texas at the Parkwood Healthcare Community .
Mildred was a member of First Baptist Church in Ranger, Beta Sigma Phi and the Ranger Garden Club. She was a retired beautician.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Larry Blackwell of Bedford, Texas; her grandchildren, Anita Blackwell of North Richland Hills, Texas, Amy Cameron of Denton, Texas, Jeff Blackwell of Austin, Texas, Jeff Cameron of Denton, Texas, and Katie Blackwell of Austin, Texas; her great grandchildren Noah, Josie, Samuel, Ben, and Lilly;her brothers,Marvin Warren of Wichita Falls, Texas and Bobby Warren of Hewitt, Texas;her sisters in law, Joy Warren, Linda Warren, and Emma Warren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
