Milton Underwood passed away on February 6, 2014 in Abilene. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 8th at Daugherty Street Church of Christ in Eastland at 2:00 PM with burial following at Eastland City Cemetery. Visitation was Friday from 6:00 – 8:00.
Henry Milton Underwood was born May 28, 1927 in Eastland County to Henry B. Underwood and Sybil Johnson Underwood. He graduated from Carbon High School and attended Cisco College. He married Verna Dean Smith on August 3, 1945. She preceded him in death on November 23, 2008. Milton was an elder for many years at Daugherty Street Church of Christ. He loved cows, farming, gardening and was a big fan of the Mavericks.
Milton is survived by his son Stanley Underwood and his wife Judy of Eastland; his daughter Sue Mizell and her husband Terry of Ft. Worth; his brother Don Underwood and his wife Deloris of Gorman; his three sisters Tincy Gorman of Abilene, Monda Oldham and her husband Bill of Searcy, Ark. And Edna Powell from Gorman; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous family members.
Memorials in Milton’s name may be made to the Daugherty Street Church of Christ.
