Minton Hanna

Minton Hanna, 92, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at in Weatherford, Texas.  Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8th at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland.  A family gathering will be from 1-3:00 p.m. Tuesday.  Interment will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland.  Mr. Hanna was born November 18, 1920 in Martinsville, Texas to Oscar Hanna and Irene Justice Hanna. He was a long-time Eastland resident, before moving to Weatherford.  He was an owner operator of a lumber company in Eastland for many years.  He was married to Bobbie Jean Lane for 47 years and she preceded him in death.  He was a member of the Daugherty Street Church of Christ for many years. Mr. Hanna had two brothers that preceded him in death, Ira Hanna and Bernard Hanna.

Survivors include his wife, Aleene Griffith Hanna; two daughters, Marsha Herridge and Julia Watson; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association and the Service Center of the Church of Christ. "The cows are fed and the gates are closed and I can go home now."
