Mozelle Harris

January 28, 1936 — April 30, 2013

Mozelle Elrod Harris went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 30, 2013. She was born January 28, 1936 in Pioneer, Texas. She was raised and lived in Cisco, Texas for much of her life. She worked for many years as a waitress, and was an avid Cisco Lobos football fan, and loved to write poetry, sew, and paint.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Weldon Harris. Also preceding in death: her infant son, Donald Ray Callerman; Mother and step-Father, Claudia (Clark) and Floyd Mellette; Father and step-Mother, Jim and Mary Elrod; brother, Rodger Elrod; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Elrod; granddaughter, Rebecca Walton; and great grandson, Kevin Rice. Mozelle is survived by her four children, JR and Kathy Harris of Clute, Texas; Ronnie and Sherrie Harris of San Bernardino, California; Pam and Michael Johns of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Brenda and Buddy Smith of Benbrook, Texas. She is also survived by 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and a sister-in-law. Mozelle was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of CrossPoint Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and was supporting their replant of Grace Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. Visitation with the family will be Friday, May 3rd from 5:00-7:00 PM at Chambers Funeral Home in Cisco, Texas. Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 4th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend Byron Townsend. She will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco next to her husband and child.
