Nellie Mae Stagner, age 89 of Ranger, went home to be with her Lord and reunited with her loved ones Friday, December 14, 2018. Services for Nellie will be at 10 am Monday, December 17 at Edwards Funeral Home at 211 Pine St in Ranger with Craig Rhoton officiating. Burial will be at the Colony Cemetery.
Nellie was born March 27, 1929 in Malvern, AR and was the daughter of Jim and Gertie Anderson Exline. She attended school in Cisco and on October 5, 1946 married the love of her life, Denver P. Stagner, Sr. in Cisco, Texas. Nellie worked in healthcare though her passion was owning and operating her daycare for over 20 years. After retiring from her daycare, she continued taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a Baptist and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Cisco.
Nellie was a kind and loving woman. She easily made friends with everyone she came into contact with. She dearly loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grands, great-grands and one very special great-great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Gertie Exline and brothers Bill and Paul Exline and her precious husband of over 50 years Denver who preceded her in 1999.
Nellie is survived by three sons; Denver Stagner, Jr. and wife Ladonna of Ranger, Billy Ray Stagner and wife Mary of Gore, OK, and James Michael Stagner and wife Peggy of Hensley, AR, three daughters; Betty Smock and husband Richard, Wilma Sybesma and Rebecca Tibbels all of Ranger. She is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Preston of Cisco, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
