EASTLAND - Oleta Knight Moseley, 81 of Olden, TX, went home to be with her Lord Saturday August 23, 2014 in San Angelo, TX. Services for Oleta will be Thursday, August 28 at 11:00 am at the Daugherty Street Church of Christ with Larry Roberts officiating. An Eastern Star Graveside service will follow at the Alemeda Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, 5-7pm under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland, TX.
Oleta was born July 12, 1933 to Claude and Dollie Harrell Knight in Fort Worth, TX. She grew up and graduated as valedictorian from Albany High School in Albany, TX. In 1950. She married Pat Moseley on September 14, 1950 on the Moseley Ranch in Olden. Pat preceded her in death on August 29, 2007 after 56 years of marriage.
Oleta worked as the head clerk for the Court of Appels in Eastland for 39 yrs. Oleta was a member of the Daugherty Street Church of Christ and an active member of the Eastern Star. Oleta is known around Eastland as being an excellent cook specializing in her amazing cream pies. She was also an excellent seamstress making dresses for the weddings of her daughter and her niece. She was an adult leader of 4-H and supported her kids and grandkids in all their endeavors.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a loving husband and one daughter Dollie Jean Carr;, sisters: Ethel Rae, Winnifred Knight, and Dorothy Parr; brothers: Willis Knight, Bennie Lee Knight and Billy Bob Knight.
Oleta is survived by a son James Allen Moseley and wife Marian of Coppell and daughter, Patricia Ann Stone and husband John of San Angelo. She is also survived by grandchildren: Michael Fox and Laura Carr of Olden, William Boyd of Beaumont, Robert Stone of Abilene, James Stone and wife Brennan of Dallas, Rebecca Moseley and James Moseley both of Coppell.
The family requests any donations be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas.
