Eastland

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pat William Hart, who left this world peacefully on November 30, 2024, at the age of 69. Pat was born on November 14, 1955, in Abilene, Texas, to John Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth (Aiken) Hart. He spent his formative years in Eastland, where he cultivated a deep love for the rural landscapes and the welcoming spirit of the community. His fond memories of time spent on his grandparents' farm in Eastland County shaped his character and instilled in him a passion for hard work and the simple pleasures of life.

From a young age, Pat dreamt of becoming a truck driver, a dream he pursued diligently. His parents supported his aspirations, ensuring he received the best education at a truck driving school in Amarillo, Texas. This commitment led him to a fulfilling career, where he spent 32 years as a dedicated truck driver for Ebba Iron. Throughout his career, Pat earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike, known not just for his skill behind the wheel but for his genuine kindness and unwavering support for others.

In love and partnership, Pat shared many cherished years with his beloved wife, Betty, until her passing. Together, they dedicated time to their community, volunteering with the Boy Scouts in Eastland and at Camp Billy Gibbons, where they nurtured the values of leadership and service in countless young lives. Pat's legacy of giving back lives on in the hearts of those he inspired.

Pat was a proud father to James Hart and grandfather to Kaylynn, Harley, Lela-Renee, and Jayden Hart, who brought immense joy to his life. He is survived by his loving sister, Judy Hodgin; his niece, Leslie Hodgin; and his nephew, Tim Hodgin. The family finds solace in the memories they hold and the love they share with them.

A celebration of Pat's life will take place on December 20, 2024, at 1:00PM, officiated by his nephew, Tim Hodgin at Edwards Funeral Home chapel in Eastland, where family and friends will gather to honor his journey and the impact he made in the lives of others.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Hart: wife, Betty Hart and brother, Bob Hart.
