Pauline G. Castro, age 82, went home to Heaven Thursday, January 22, 2015. Mass will be held Tuesday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Ranger, TX. Visitation and Holy Rosary will be Monday, January 26, from 5 – 7 pm at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Ranger.
Pauline was born April 2, 1932 in Ranger, TX to Carman Galaviz and Carmen Cordova Galaviz and was a life-long resident of Ranger. On April 28, 1952 she married Marcos Castro in Palo Pinto, TX. They were married 34 years until his death in 1986. Pauline loved to cook and sew and was very good at both. She was very outspoken yet was always willing to help anyone who needed help. Pauline loved to go dancing and a cold Coca Cola but her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pauline was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Marcos.
She is survived by four daughters: Adela Adams of Olden, Connie Jimenez and husband Polo of Ranger, Gloria Bowden of Ranger, Martha Peebles also of Ranger, two brothers: Salvador Galaviz and his wife Mary of Haltom City and Guadalupe Galaviz of Mansfield and one sister Janie Ortiz of TX. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Megan Dame and husband Brody of Aledo, Elisha Vasquez and husband John of Ranger, David Ray Adams and wife Lindsay of North, South Carolina, Bryan Adams of Olden and Mark Adams of San Angelo, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
The family of Pauline would also like special mention to J.J. Reger, Dr. Robert Deluca, the wonderful staff at the Ranger Care Center and Gentiva Hospice.
The family also request donations be made to the Ranger Fire Department.
