Perry Short, Sr., 89, of Ranger, passed from this life on July 23, 2012 in an Abilene hospital. He was born on July 23, 1923 in St. Jo, Louisiana to Joe and Mary Brown Short. He married Elviria Duncan on June 30, 1960 in Eastland, Texas and was a truck driver for the Texas Pacific Railroad. He was also a deacon of St. Paul Baptist Church until it's closing in 2008. He was a member of Covenant Love Church of Ranger, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son: james Short; 3 brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his wife: Elviria Short of Ranger; son: Perry Short, Jr. of Ranger and other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel of Ranger with Jeralyn Sledge officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Ranger, Texas.
