Perry Vinson

March 15, 1922 — June 13, 2013

- Perry F. "Buddie" Vinson of Ranger, Texas went home to be with his Heavenly Father, June 13, 2013 after a short illness. Services were held 2:00 PM Sunday, June 16 at the Merriman Baptist Church in Ranger, TX under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger. Burial followed at the Merriman Cemetery. Visitation was Saturday at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel from 5 to 7 PM.


Buddie was born March 15, 1922 in Eastland County, Texas to Williams Shirley and Susie Mae Casey Vinson. He was a lifelong resident of Ranger, Texas. He married Nona Louise Pugh March 2, 1941 in Ranger, Texas.


Buddie joined the US Army, October 24, 1942 during WWII and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and Philippine Liberation. Buddie was also a member of the Masons.


Buddie own and operated Vinson TV & Appliance in Ranger, Texas and worked there until the handed the reins over to his son.


He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters.


He is survived by his son David Vinson of Ranger, 2 daughters - Sandy and husband Raymond Yarbrough of Eastland, Sherry and husband Larry Herrington of Ranger and a sister Nellie and her husband Terry Warren of Eastland, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. Buddie is also survived by a host of other relatives.
