Rafailita Lydia (Mendoza) Wylie

February 17, 1940 — September 24, 2014

RANGER - Rafailita Lydia Mendoza Wylie, 74, of Abilene, passed away Wednesday. September 24, 2014. Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Ranger. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Wylie was born February 17, 1940 in Ranger to Paschal and Trinidad (Camacho) Mendoza. She graduated from Ranger High School in 1959 and Texas Woman’s University in 1963. She married Carroll H. Wylie on April 28, 1962 in Dallas. She was President-CEO of Child Nutrition Inc. in Abilene, Texas, retiring in 2009, after twenty years. She was a caring mother, devoted and dedicated wife, and a friend to many people. She was forever an advocate for children.
Survivors include her husband, Carroll H. Wylie of Abilene; son, Arthur W. Wylie of Abilene; granddaughter, Alicia Lynn Wylie of New Orleans, LA; sister, Wilma Rodriquez of Ft. Worth; brothers, Robert Reynosa of Chula Vista, CA, Paul Mendoza of Ft. Worth, Arthur Mendoza of Garland, Rudy Mendoza of Ranger. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Chico Mendoza, and a sister Julia Rodriguez.
