Richard Earl Kurklin

May 17, 1944 — June 12, 2021

Richard Earl Kurklin went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 12, 2021. Born in Cisco, Texas, Richard was the son of Walter Earl Kurklin and Creola Mae Kurklin, née Richardson. Richard graduated from Cisco High School and Cisco Junior College and attended Tarleton State College. Richard worked for a time as a sports reporter for the Cisco Press, covering local sports. He was an ardent fan of his Cisco Loboes Football team. A man of strong faith, Richard attended Corinth Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church, both in Cisco. Richard was interested in history, politics, and theology, often having lively conversations about these interests.

Richard is preceded in death by his father Walter and his mother Creola, along with his brother, Travis Dean Kurklin of Cisco and his sister, Doris Jean White of Cisco. He is survived by his brother, Walter Mark Kurklin of Norman, Oklahoma, his niece Joan Strickland of Cisco, and his nephew, Brian Kurklin of Norman, Oklahoma. Services for Richard Kurklin will be Friday, June 18, 2021 at the Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland, Texas at 11AM with viewing at 10AM. Richard will be interred at Corinth Cemetery in Cisco.
