Rita Joyce Jordan was born into this world August 23, 1931 in Eastland, Texas to her parents, Harley and Irma Fox Sr. She lived in Eastland, TX her whole life. After graduating from Eastland High School in 1948, she married the love of her life, Billy B. Jordan on April 5, 1956 in Eastland. Rita worked for Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator for several years before joining her husband to work at Victor Cornelius Menus in 1982. She later retired April 11, 1997.
She loved to bowl at the Eastland bowling alley where she helped start the Junior Bowling league. She also loved taking trips with her family to Ruidoso and Las Vegas. She enjoyed Winstar and Shreveport trips with her husband. Rita was also an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. In the earlier years, her favorite hobby was following her granddaughter to ballgames and cheering on her team.
Rita had the biggest heart and cared deeply for those she loved. She was the “rock” of the family. As of late, her biggest enjoyment with the most laughs was her visits with her Great Granddaughter, Chelsi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Irma Fox, Sr.; husband, Billy B. Jordan; her sister, Marjorie Herring; and her brother Harley Fox, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Doyle and husband Jerry Don Doyle; her granddaughter, Candi Kanady and husband Scottie Kanady; and her great granddaughter, Chelsi Kanady.
