Eastland – Rita “Mildred” Wilson passed away Thursday evening April 3, at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be conducted at the Daugherty St. Church of Christ on Sunday, April 6th at 2:00 pm with Larry Roberts and Darrell Phillips officiating, followed by burial at the Eastland Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
Mildred was born on October 27, 1927 to Lester F. and Edith “Crotwell” Trout at Eastland. She has been a lifetime member of the Eastland community. She married James M. Sherrill on April 9, 1950 in Eastland TX. He preceded her in Death in 2002. She worked for many years at Piggly Wiggly as a butcher; afterwards she worked until her retirement at the local A.S.C.S. office. She Married Howard Wilson on Oct. 11, 2002. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ, and The Eastland Garden Club. She was a very loving person, always cooking for others as well as her extended family. She enjoyed taking care of her family, friends and her home.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband James, 1 Son, Larry Wilson, 3 brothers, Olan, Earl & Gene Trout, and 1 grandchild. She is survived by her husband, Howard of Eastland, 2 sons: Howard Gene and wife Donna Wilson of Nacogdoches TX, and Terry and wife Carlotta Wilson of Eastland, 1 Daughter, Yvonne and husband Tommy Williamson of Eastland, 1 daughter-in-law, Donna Wilson, 4 sisters: Barbara Butler, of Eastland, Billie and husband Larry Graham of Abilene, Laverne Moore of Midlothian, and Joy and husband Benny O’Brien of Graham, 1 brother, Virgil Trout and wife Ruby of Clyde, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews and family members.
