Robert Ashley

Robert Dennis Ashley Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend, and dedicated servant to the Lord, was born on November 29, 1950, in Harris County, Texas. He peacefully departed this world on January 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew him.

He proudly served his country in the United States Marines, embodying the values of honor and commitment that he carried into all facets of his life.

Robert worked in the construction industry where he never came across a piece of equipment he couldn't operate, showcasing his remarkable skills and strong work ethic throughout his life.

In a beautiful celebration of love, Robert married Nina Joy Padgett in Porter, Texas where they spent 19 years of marriage, and then created a warm and loving home in Cisco, Texas. Together they shared almost 40 years of happy memories.

Robert had a zest for life, enjoying fishing and bird hunting during his leisure time. His passion for training dogs and creating things with his hands brought him joy and satisfaction. As a devoted member of his church, he delighted in driving the church bus to church meetings, sharing his love for God and helping others along the way. His laughter and kindness touched many hearts, making the world a brighter place.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Robert's remarkable life and legacy on Friday, Jan. 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland allowing all who knew and loved him to come together in joy, remembrance, and gratitude for the time shared with this extraordinary man. A visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis (Red) Ashley and Lillian Venola (Thrash) Ashley, and his only sibling, Russell Ashley.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Nina Joy Ashley; children, Shanna Turpin and husband Mark, Amy McClure and husband Michael, Robert Ashley, Jr., Curtis Yates and wife Judy, Chris Yates and wife Ginger, Christina Waller and husband Robert, Katie Ashley, and Caleb Ashley and wife Charlene; 27 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and countless friends and family who will remember his generous spirit and infectious smile.
