On Sunday, October 18, 2020, Robert Steve Coleman, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

Known to his friends and loved ones as Steve, he was born on September 1, 1952 in Longview, Texas. He was raised in Hallsville, Texas where he graduated from Hallsville High School in 1971 after which he immediately joined the United States Marine Corps. He served his country from 1971-1975. Having fought in the Vietnam War. Leaving the USMC as a Corporal.

He spent the rest of his life in construction and was on the road constantly to provide for his family. He was selfless and always thinking of others, when money was tight due to hard times; he would eat beany weenies so he could send all of his per diem home to provide for his family. He was an avid fisherman. He was skilled and talented with the ability to create beautiful things from wood. His carpentry work is treasured.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Lisa, his sister Lynn Baker. Lisa & Steve raised six children; daughter Kerry and husband Bert, son Heath and wife Dari, daughter Jayme & husband Rodney, son Dustin and wife Erin, son Kyle and wife Courtney, daughter Shaye and husband Peter, 19 grandchildren, two great grandchildren. Steve leaves behind an extended family that he held so dear. Who will miss him forever.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the Edwards Funeral Home at 2 o’clock p.m. Flowers may be sent to Edwards Funeral Home located at 415 E. Housley, Strawn, Texas 76475.
