Robert James Donham, 82, of Eastland County went to be with his Lord peacefully in his sleep early Saturday morning, October 15, 2022, in Abilene, Texas.
James was born October 20, 1939 in rural Eastland County to William and Bertha Donham. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Billy Ray Donham, and his wife, Mary Rone Donham.
He is survived by daughters; Pam Wintermute and husband Doug of Huntsville, Texas, Chris Clayton and husband Scott of Abilene, Texas; grandsons; Travis Clayton of Houston, Texas and Trevor Clayton and fiancé Randa Watson of Midland, Texas; granddaughters; Dr. Sarah Wintermute Walton and husband Scott of College Station, Texas and Emily Wintermute of College Station, Texas and a great grandson, Tyler Clayton of Pleasanton, TX.
He is also survived by siblings; Bertie Jackson and husband Drew Dan of Carthage, Texas, W.T. and wife Loretta Donham of Cisco, Texas, Jean Ziehr and husband Roland of Clyde, Texas and Judy Atkinson and husband Jimmy of Clyde, Texas.
James attended Ballinger and Cisco High Schools and worked a variety of jobs before a career in Natural Gas processing, becoming a plant manager. He was a hard worker and enjoyed cattle ranching, fishing, hunting, having a garden, and spending time with his family.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 18th , at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel Eastland, 411 S. Mulberry St. in Eastland. Visitation will precede the service at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Bear Springs Cemetery in Eastland County.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bear Springs Cemetery Association or to Kokomo Baptist Church.
