Rodney G. Mitchell

EASTLAND – Rodney G. Mitchell age 67 of Eastland, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 10th 2014 at Eastland Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home Monday, 5~7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Lake Leon Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery.
He was born on September 17th, 1946 in Ranger, Texas to Kathryn and Gail Mitchell.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Charlene Mitchell of the home; his children, Shane Mitchell and Danielle Mitchell of Texas, Jason and Flora Gonzales of Temecula, California, Sarah and Andrew Vargas of Eastland, Texas; nine grandchildren, Cheyanne Greenmun, Cutter Greenmun, Tyler Gonzales, Cynthia Vargas, Andru Gonzales, Miguel Vargas, Nichole Vargas, Sam Pitts and Nathan Gonzales; sisters, Carol Scott of Wichita Falls, Cheryl and Mark Craig of Wichita Falls, Karen and Greg Smith of Weatherford; mother-in-law, Jeannetta West of Eastland; numerous sister–in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kathyrn and Gail Mitchell; sister, Kathyrn Suzanne Elliston, sister-in-law, Brenda Hearn, and brother-in-law, Carl Foster.
