Ronald Dean Gilbert of Brownwood, formerly of Ranger, passed away on May 5, 2017 at the Graham Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 10th at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger directed by Edwards Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at the funeral home in Ranger from 9:00 to 10:30 am prior to leaving for the cemetery.
Ronald was born in Lubbock, Texas on April 11, 1953 to Onis and Beatrice (Barton) Gilbert. He moved to Ranger where he graduated from Ranger High School. Ronald was an oil field worker for many years and a member of the Church of Christ.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Rhonda (Walkin) Gilbert of Brownwood, one daughter; Rhonda Watson and husband Alton of Ranger, four sons; Ronny Gilbert and wife Nicki of Ranger, Jason Gilbert and wife Delaura of Mercury, Donald Gilbert and wife Josie of Brownwood and David Gilbert and wife Lizzy of Brownwood. One step-daughter; Jeanie Moore of Blanket and one step-son; Jeff Moore and wife Shannon of Round Rock. Ronald is also survived by three sisters; Connie Snyder of Sugar Land, Starlene Hill of Palacios and Shannon Sampley of Ranger along with 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, 2 sisters and two grandsons.
