Ronald “Rex” Webb, 80 of Lake Leon, passed away Monday March 5, 2018. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. He will be inurned in the Veteran State Cemetery in Abilene.
Rex was born on October 18, 1937 in Eastland to Raymond Webb and Bertha (Horn) Webb. He graduated from Eastland High School. He married Nancy Walker on January 1, 1965 in Fresno, CA. He served for 40 years in the US Navy, and Civil Service. He worked for the City of Eastland as Fire Chief, as a Policeman, and Animal Control. He was a member of the VFW Post 4136 in Eastland, and Leon River Cowboy Church. He was an avid fisherman all of his life. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Donald Webb, and Jimmy Webb; and a sister, Sue Webb.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Nancy Webb of Eastland; a son, Brian Webb and wife Pam of Eastland; a daughter, Rhonda Carignan and husband Frank of Coos Bay, Oregon; 2 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; many special friends, including John Belch and shipmates.
Memorial donations in his name may be made to the Eastland Fire or Police Departments.
