Roy married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Charla, from Fort Worth. They have been married for 48 years. They were seldom seen one without the other . Not having children of their own, they always had a van of kids and took them on many adventures throughout the years . They were always considered family . The Gordon 4-H club also played a role in his life, where he participated as a leader. He also volunteered with the lake Palo Pinto fire department, Gordon Volunteer Fire department, and the Tri-City ambulance. He played a big role in helping out in the community . He served with the Lake Palo Pinto patrol office for many years and took his position, very serious, protecting and serving his community. The many kids high sports and activities that he supported were greatly appreciated and never went unnoticed. Roy is proceeded in death by his parents George and Charlesy Charles, and grandmother Bertha . Survived by his wife Charla, fur baby Sister, childhood best friend, Carl Smith of Burleson, cousin Greg Charles, and wife Ginny of Yantis, Texas. A special thank you goes to close friends , Amy and William Floyd , Larry and Sherry Rasmussen , and Bob Williams . And to those that always called with warm wishes and prayers.
