Ruben R. Gaeta, Sr. 86, of Eastland, went to his heavenly home on March 19, 2018. Born in Eastland February 8, 1932 raised in Eastland, went to school at Olden, TX.
He married his wife, Ramona of 68 years in Stanton, TX. A lifetime member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, he was a mechanic for Fullen Motor Co, 1968 and joined G & R Gulf with Gilbert Garces and in 1972 opened Ruben’s Interstate Gulf until 2016 and also helped operate Ramona’s Mexican Restaurant.
Ruben was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Gaeta; mother, Felipa Gaeta; sons, Robert Lee and Terry Gaeta; brothers, Gene, Victor, Burnie, Gil, and Alfonso Gaeta; and sister-in-law’s, Cecilia Curiel, Coca Jimenez, and Mary Jimenez.
He is survived by wife, Ramona Jimenez Gaeta of Eastland, TX; daughter, Patricia Cannon and son-in-law Tim of Arlington, TX; son Ruben Gaeta Jr. and daughter-in-law Mary Lynn Gaeta of Arlington, TX; granddaughters, Sky Gaeta Sukam and husband Alain Sukam of Bryan College Station and Madison Cannon of Arlington, TX; sister, Erlinda Ortiz of Millsap, TX; brothers-in-law, Everisto Jimenez and wife Nita, Alex Jimenez and wife Maryellen, Jimmy Jimenez and wife Rene, Julio Jimenez and wife Gilma, Phillip Jimenez, John Jimenez, and Larry Bolles; sisters-in-law, Maggie Jimenez, Rosie Jimenez Ochoa, Frances Rodriguez, Jessie Jimenez, Tommie Gaeta; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 10:00 am Friday, March 23rd, followed by burial in Eastland City Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm March 22nd with a Rosary at 7 pm at Edwards Funeral Home Eastland.
Pallbearers will be Alex, Phillip, Everisto, Jimmy, Johnny, and Julio Jimenez, Larry Bolles, and Leo, Arthur, and Al Gaeta, Jr., and Gary Hall.
