Ruby Lee Jackson, 94, of Eastland, passed away Wednesday May 28, 2014 in Eastland. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Eastland City Cemetery with Dale Squiers officiating. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home Thursday, 6~8 p.m.
She was born June 1, 1919 in Wichita Falls, TX to George and Cora (Wood) Pierce. She married L. Wayne Jackson on April 5, 1935 in Carbon. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1972. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Jackson; and 3 brothers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eastland Chapter #280 Order of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Joann Johnson; 3 grandchildren, Kenny Johnson, Steve Johnson, and Diane Maxwell; 9 great-grandchildren, Jody Johnson, Jason Johnson, Justin Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Stephanie Wedell, Ashley Foust, Cass Tucker, and Kenzie Rivera. She was also survived by 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Eastland Volunteer Fire Department, 414 S. Seaman St, Eastland, TX 76448.
