Ruth Muriel Daffern

Victoria – Ruth Daffern, age 85, passed away on Wednesday June 10, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones. A graveside service will be held on Saturday June 13th at 10:00 am at Eastland City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland, Texas.
Ruth Muriel Lawson was born in Eastland, Texas on August 23, 1929 to Roy and Lillie (Cook) Lawson. She graduated from Eastland High School and married the love of her life, Billy Jack Daffern, Sr., on February 23, 1946 in Temple, Texas. They were blessed with two sons, Billy Jack Daffern, Jr. and Steve Daffern. Ruth was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Victoria.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lille Lawson, one brother and one sister.
She is survived by her husband of over 69 years, Jack; her two sons, Billy Jack Daffern, Jr. and his wife Arlinda of Fredricksburg and Steve Daffern and his wife Pam of Semmes, Alabama; five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ruth’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
