Sadie lnez lshmael, 91 of Eastland, TX went home to be with
her Heavenly Father, Saturday, February 1, 2014. Funeral services were
held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 4th at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel
in Eastland. Visitation was Monday, 6-8 pm.
Sadie was born January 12, 1923 to Timothy and Vie Rasco Holt in Alba,
TX. She married William Homer Ishmael April 23, 1939 in canton, TX and
was blessed with 15 children, 12 of which are still living. Besides rearing her
precious children, Sadie loved to read and watch movies. She enjoyed true
romance novels often reading them to her husband. She loved to sew and
and was a quilter and an amazing cook. Sadie also loved doing jigsaw puzzles
when she got the opportunity.
Sadie was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, 4 brothers and her beloved husband, Homer Ishmael. She is also preceded by 3 children, Ray Ishmael, Sadie Ishmael and Arnold Ishmael and the precious grandchildren.
Sadie is survived by 8 daughters: Nancy Taylor of Eastland, Rose Mary and Richard Dennis of Ranger, Bessie Ensley of Hugo, OK, Barbara and Steve Ballew of Balch Springs, Kathleen and Jackie Hutcheson of Eastland, Linda and Tommy Trlica of Galveston, Nina and Kenneth Hudson of Eastland, and Sonja and Mark
Graham of Lake Leon. She is survived by 4 sons: David W. Ishmael of Frost, Tom and Geleta Ishmael of Mullins, James E. Ishmael of Mabank, and Rickey and Rhonda Ishmael of Gordonville; her sister Cecil E. Wideman of Mineola; her brother, Jim and Debbie Holt of Whitewright. Sadie was also blessed with 52
grandchildren, 117 great-grandchildren; and 78 great-great-grandchildren; her former daughter-in-law and friend, Pat Ishmael; and her beloved dog and faithful
companion, Bubba. Sadie was well loved and will be missed by all.
