Sammie Kay Howeth, 77 of Eastland, passed away Saturday June 10, 2023.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14th at Edwards Funeral Home, 411 S. Mulberry St, Eastland, Tx.
Sammie was born October 1, 1945 in Haskell, Tx to O.T. Williams and Oleta May (Israel) Williams. She graduated from Haskell High School. She married Stevie Gerald Howeth on June 3, 1962. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Hayes Smith; 3 brothers, Rex Williams, Jerry Max Williams and Jimmy Williams; a sister, Shirley Ann Curd; grandson, Derek Taylor Hayes; and great-grandchildren, Gaitlyn & Luke Armandariz, and Mallory Rose Montgomery.
Sammie enjoyed bingo, grandkids, shopping, car racing, reading, and EVERY sport. She had attended the River of Life Church.
Survivors include children, Steve Dale Hayes & wife Robin, Stanley Loyd Howeth & wife Shannon, and Shane Lynn Howeth & wife Dannielle; grandchildren, Gena Stanley & husband Tim, Lauren Kay Smith, Brittany Nieves & husband Erick, Desiree Caplinger & boyfriend Will, Kelsey Hayes Smith & husband Colby, Robby Joe Martinez & husband Gerardo, Cooper Hayes, Sawyer Howeth & wife Jessica, Slade Howeth & girlfriend Karina, Savanah Howeth & boyfriend Sam, Shay Howeth & boyfriend Ethan, and Steven Howeth; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Shayanne Van Meter, Dannica Faith Van Meter & boyfriend Anthony Montgomery, Jesse Van Meter II, Kamryn Paige Larremore, Sebastian Nieves, Scarlett Nieves, Everly Nieves, Jacob Caplinger, Annie Caplinger, Sophia Hayes, Brooklyn Smith, Blayse Smith, Tre Martinez, Spenser Howeth, Kenia Howeth, Koleston Howeth, Hunter Rogers, Maggie Kirkeby, Cash Kirkeby, Hazel Kight, and Sterling Thurman.
The family would like to thank Solaris Hospice, they were amazing with all of their knowledge and caring for Sammie; Edwards Funeral Home; and Gary Montgomery, a good friend to Sammie.
