Sarah F. Corliss, age 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018. Services for Sarah will be Thursday at 2 pm at the Leon River Cowboy Church off I-20 in Olden, TX under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland. A visitation will start at 12:30 the same day before the service. Burial will be at the family farm in the Okra Community. The family’s request is that they would love as many friends that are able to attend the service at her final resting place at the Farm after the funeral.
Sarah Fern (Riley) Corliss was born October 26, 1937 in Jal, New Mexico to Sim and Jessie Payton Riley. She married Daniel L. Corliss on April 19, 1975 where they lived in Seagoville, TX until moving to their much loved Farm.
Sarah loved the Lord and her family with a passion and was an active member of the Leon River Cowboy Church and the 1st Baptist Church of Rising Star. At Leon River she was a big part of the Huggie Bear Ministry, prayer ministry and the meals ministry. She was also a huge supporter of the Anchor Bible Study for young adults in Stephenville.
Sarah loved all animals, dogs, cats, horses, miniature horses, baby calves, but had a special place in her heart for her fur babies(dogs) her little horses and donkey and especially her chickens where she blessed so many with fresh eggs.
Sarah is survived by her husband of nearly 42 years, Dan Corliss, son Danny Shaw and wife Terry of Quitman, TX; daughter Debby Payne and husband Rodney of Stephenville; son, Steve Corliss of Mineral Wells and daughter Melanie Wooten of Eastland; brother Bobby Riley and sister, Delores Bettes. She is also survived by her grandchildren whom she adored; Brea Eitel, Taylor Piper, Justin Piper, Cody Piper, Eric Piper, Ashley Schwalbach, Branden Corliss, Cameryn Corliss and great-grandchildren; Kallie Powell, Joseph Powell, Alexis Shaw and Maddox Schwalbach.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Sonny Riley and precious grandsons; Shane Wells and Joshua Shaw.
