Shirley Katherine Notgrass

Shirley Katherine Notgrass went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 21, 2017 in Eastland. Services for Shirley will be 2 PM Monday, July 24, 2017 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland. Interment followed at the Eastland City Cemetery.


Shirley was born May 17, 1937 at Morton Valley Texas to Bonnie Law and Nola Jane Williamson. She married Roy Lee Notgrass Sr. on July 9, 1954 in Eastland, TX. She had 2 sons: Roy Lee Notgrass Jr. and Gary Lynn Notgrass. Shirley and Roy celebrated 63 years of marriage on July 9, 2017.

Shirley enjoyed sewing and owned her own sewing company for over 40 years. She enjoyed going to casinos and the horse races. Her love for family was her greatest joy. She enjoyed her Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys and was a huge fan of both teams. She had a heart as big as Texas when it came to helping people, she would help anyone who needed help. She also loved her dogs, as she said “one of the family.”

Survivors include: Husband Roy Lee Notgrass Sr. of Eastland; 2 Sons, Roy Lee Notgrass Jr and wife Joyce of Waxahachie and Gary Lynn Notgrass and wife Vicky of Midlothian; 2 Brothers, S.L. Williamson, and C.W. “Dub” Williamson and wife Wanda; 2 sisters, Syble Ann and husband Bob Hammick, and Lillie Fern and husband Gene Patton; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 3 sisters, 1 grandson and numerous brothers and sisters in law.
