Sonja Henson, 76, of Olden, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 in Eastland. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Eastland City Cemetery with Paul Howie officiating and under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland.
Sonja was born November 29, 1937 in Santa Anna to Dalph and Audie (Harris) Evans. She was Valedictorian of Burkett High School class of 1956. She married Max Henson on March 23, 1957 in Burkett, TX. She was a business manager for Eastland Memorial Hospital, B&W Clinic, and the Eastland Chamber of Commerce for many years. She was a member of the Leon River Cowboy Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Johnnie Faye Evans.
Survivors include her husband, Max Henson of Olden; 2 sons, Clyde Henson and wife Rosemary of Kermit, and Robert Henson and wife Charla of Olden; grandchildren, Gary Wayne Henson and wife Lauren of Kermit, Jacob Henson and fiancée Laura Procter of Lingeleville , Max Henson and fiancée Shey Lynn Thomas of Patillo, Heather Henson of Olden. Sisters, Theda Karnegay of Ft. Worth, Robie Lucko of Temple, Maureen Clark of Abilene, and Rebanell Steinman of Eastland. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
