Thomas Leroy Cavanaugh

Strawn – Thomas L. Cavanaugh passed from this life Thursday December 12, 2013. A memorial service will be 5:00 P.M. Saturday December 14, 2013 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Strawn, Texas. Thomas graduated from High School in Illinois, served two tours during WWII in the US Army from 1942 to 1948, was a member of the Catholic Church and VFW Post 8077 Homewood, Ill. Thomas also worked as a sign painter for 60 years serving in the Chicago area before retiring in Strawn. Survivors include one son: Michael T. Cavanaugh; two daughters: Ann Barrett and Mary Cavanaugh; one sister: LaVergne Tancos; one grandson; and one great grandchild; other relatives and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed..
