Thomas F. Merritt

RANGER- Thomas F. “Tommie” Merritt, 83, of Ranger passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 25th at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 24th.
​Tommie was born December 21, 1934 in Palo Pinto County to Thomas Franklin Merritt and Nettie Elizabeth (Handley) Merritt. He was a well-known and loved member of his community. He never met a stranger. Tommie married Faye Burrow March 4, 1967 in Cisco, Texas.
​Tommie is survived by his loving wife, Faye Merritt; sons, Scott and John Burrow; daughter, Lisa Reason; 4 grandchildren, Bennie Burrow, Aaron Borchard, Daniel Borchard, Katie Reason; and 8 great grandchildren, Jayton, Justin, Shelby, Jordon and Nettie Richardson, Sierra and Ally Borchard, Zaelynn Sharp and the many others who he welcomed into his home and raised as his own.
​In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in Thomas F. Merritt’s name be made to St Jude’s Hospital Research.
