Tinnia Louise Bass

Tinnia Louise Bass, age 64, of Merkel, Texas went running into the arms of the Love of her life Jesus Christ on the evening of July 22, 2021 at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, Texas surrounded by family.
Tinnia was born on July 28, 1956 in Midland, Texas to Jannie Louise Curtis Sanders. She was a born caregiver through and through. Her ministry was Canyon House in Merkel, where she cared for disabled vets. She loved to minister to others there were caregivers as well.
Tinnia was a member of Fountain Gate Fellowship in Merkel, where she was part of the intercessor’s prayer group. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and was loved by many in her community.
Before Tinnia started Canyon House she spent 5 years caring for her mother Jannie. She was so articulate in knowing all of her many medications detailed completely and took great care of every need that Jannie had until her homegoing. Then, Tinnia started “His Caregivers United” as s source for other caregivers that needed encouragement and many care packages were put together for them to let them know that they mattered and they were loved and being prayed for. She then started Canyon House for caring for disabled Veterans where to this day there is still one that she loved so very much “Joe”. Her nephew Matthew still cares for him at Canyon House.
She is survived by her sister, Brenda Lucas and husband Don (whom she called her “little brother” and prayer partner) of Eastland, Texas; nephews, Matthew Johnson of Merkel, Texas and Christopher Johnson of Midland, Texas; niece by heart, Lisa Huntoon of Midland, Texas; cousins, Susan Davidson of Midland (whom was more of a sister than a cousin), Willie and Felicia Curtis of Eastland, Sonny and Bea Curtis of Midland, Sharon Parsley of Lewisville, Floyd and Debbie Sanders of Abilene, Greg and Sara Sanders of Grapevine; and her faithful emotional support dog, “Dumplin”.
Tinnia is preceded in death by her mother, Jannie Louise Sanders; father, Homer Donald Sanders; grandparents, William Henry Curtis and Linnie Mae Curtis of Midland, Mark Curtis and Venson Curtis of Midland.
A going home party will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 16, 2021 at her home church, Fountain Gate Church in Merkel, Texas located at 410 Trundy St. Merkel, Texas 79536. A small reception will be held afterwards at the Church.
She will surely be missed greatly until we see her again.
