Todd Charles Wright, age 40, peacefully passed away on January 09, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center, Abilene, Texas, with his wife Jenna and family members by his side. His children Claire and Drew at home, as prepared as possible.
Born on March 17th, 1972 in St. Louis, Missouri, Todd grew up in Ladue, MO. Summers were enjoyed with his parents, Charlie and Jane and sister Holly, at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado.
Cheating death (in the form of leukemia) at age 18, he spent the next 22 years with the grim reaper lurking in his shadow.
The move to Texas, from Missouri, came when Todd found his true love, Jenna. They were married on July 1st, 2006 at New Hope Baptist Church, Gorman, TX. Being a man of deep faith, Todd became and remained a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Todd was a self-employed investor who provided a comfortable life for he and his family. As a father Todd excelled; being fair, kind, generous, and whole heartedly supportive of his children Claire and Drew. His sense of humor was unmatched, always able to laugh with others and at himself. Never one to let political correctness or fear muddle his words, Todd spoke his truth, followed his faith and always stood up for those who couldn't.
In all his adventures, the thought of slowing down never crossed Todd's mind. At the age of 40 however, things changed, his body spoke up and said no more, the time is now. With peace in his heart, Todd fearlessly faced death with clarity, composure and a hearty dose of humor.
From childhood in Ladue, MO, to Estes Park, CO, to fellow survivors at the City of Hope in Duarte, CA, to Cisco, TX, Todd was surrounded by loving friends and family. Blessed are the many who's lives intertwined with Todd's.
Todd is survived by his wife, Jennifer Elaine (Torrez) Wright and children, 3 1/2 yr. old twins, Claire Charlotte-Louise Wright and Andrew Tye Wright (Cisco, TX). Survived also by his parents, Charles B. and Jane S. Wright (St. Louis, MO), his sister Holly E. Wright (Santa Fe, NM), sister-in-law Cynthia Steputis (Santa Fe, NM), and grandmother Charlotte Wright (St. Louis, MO).
Predeceased by his grandparents Charles B. Wright Sr., Walter C. and Laurene T. Strehlman. Predeceased also by his beloved canine companions Samantha and Fenwick.
