Tonya Kay Welch

Tonya Kay Welch, age 65, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, March 3, 2020 surrounded by her loved ones. Services will be held Friday, March 6th at the First Baptist Church in Strawn; burial will follow at Mt Marion Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6-8 PM Thursday, March 5th at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn.
Tonya was born March 19, 1954 to Johnny Johnson and Alice R. (Roberson) Johnson in Abilene, Texas. She was raised in Strawn, where she graduated in the 1973 class. Tonya was a member of the First Baptist Church of Strawn and was self-employed doing many tasks to keep busy helping others. She enjoyed puzzles, bingo, scratch offs, and her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Alice Johnson and two sisters Mickie Sue Duncan and Cynthia Jarvis.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Stephen and wife Glenda and son Brandon Stephen; sister, Vickie Wilson and husband Kevin; Nephews Randy Johnson, Micheal Duncan, Chris Duncan and Ryan Duncan. Grandchildren, K-Lani Nava-Stephen, Vickie Sewell, Terry Kilman, Andrew Barrientes, Kagan Holifield. Great grandchildren Luke, Meagan, Sam, Kaitlyn, Ty, Khloe, Jaxson, Greyson and 8 great great grandchildren.
She was loved by all in her community.
