Truman Reese Bryant, 89, a life-long resident of Carbon, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 in Ranger. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Carbon Community Church with Jody Forbus and Keith Clower officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland.
Mr. Bryant was born December 2, 1924 in Winters, TX to Tom and Minnie Dell (Coleman) Bryant. He married Wanda Donaldson on November 30, 1946 in Carbon. After serving in the Army, he was a farmer and worked road maintenance for Eastland County for 33 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carbon, Carbon Lions Club, and a member of the Carbon City Commission for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angie Bryant Clower; brothers, Adren, Eddy, and Troy Bryant; sisters, Gladys Eubanks, and Serena Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Bryant of Carbon; son, Truman Douglas Bryant of Carbon; daughter, Candi Taylor and husband Bobby of Eastland; grandchildren, Keith Clower of Sweetwater, Wendy Forbus of Carbon, Heather Poole of Sioux City, Iowa, Heath Bryant of Round Rock, Caleb Taylor of San Angelo, Cady Pena of Miles, and Hannah Bryant of Carriere, Mississippi.
