On April 3, 2024 Verda Jean Eaves nee Spurlen was laid to rest next to her husband Neil B. Eaves on what would have been their 80th wedding anniversary. She is preceded in death by her husband, sons Kenneth Neil Eaves and Frederick Mack Eaves, her parents, four sisters - Luva Glen Drummond, Mary Mccord, Addie Smith, and Bobbie Richardson - and one brother F.L. Spurlen.

She is survived by son Donald Eaves, daughter Dolores Peterson, five grandchildren Laura MacKay, Cary Neil Eaves, Marshall Peterson, Tony Peterson and Annalisa Peterson, two great grandsons Toby Pearson and Sean Pearson, and six great grandchildren.
