Vidilla Carol Bennett

Vidilla Carol (DeMars) Bennett, age 76, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in Fort Worth, TX. She was born on November 17, 1946 in Salinas, CA to Alvin DeMars and Pauline L. (Craig) DeMars.
Vidilla was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many. A devout Christian who dedicated her life helping others in need. Her quick-witted demeanor and thirst for knowledge drove her to pursue historical events and was extremely passionate researching genealogy of many families. Before her health started declining, she enjoyed working in her yard, taking care of her Iris’s and enjoyed attending Iris shows. She married the love of her life, William Bennett on August 31st, 1968 in Salinas, CA. They spent 55 beautiful years together. She served our community for over 20 years as an Emergency Medical Technician for the City of Gordon. She retired from a long-standing career within the Gordon, Huckabay, and Prundale districts transporting the next generation to and from school. Vidilla was a profusely prideful individual who encouraged others and was surrounded by family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband: William Bennett; two sons: Jeff and Tom Bennett and wife Pathoumvan; one daughter: Nicki Bennett; daughter-in-law: Sherri Goforth; brother: Greg DeMars and wife Laura; sister: Di Kerr and husband Gary; 5 grandchildren: D.J., J.J, Katie, Brooke and Lauren; one precious great-grandbaby on the way, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
She was met at the Pearly gates and reunited with her parents: Alvin and Pauline and son: Duane Stephen Sanders.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7pm, Friday, October 6, 2023 at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn. Graveside services are scheduled for 10am, Saturday, October7, 2023 at ExRay Cemetery on Hwy 108 with Bruce Fambro officiating. Arrangement are entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn, Texas.
The family will gather for a luncheon at the Huckabay Community Center following the graveside service.
