Vivian Hazel May Osborn, age 77, of Eastland, Texas, achieved true freedom from all pain and sorrow on Friday, July 4, 2014. Services were held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at The Pentecostals of Eastland Church. Burial followed in the Romney Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland.
She was born on June 6, 1937, in Gorman, Texas, to her father Seba Williams and her mother Elsie Williams (Wright). She married Junior Owens on January 27, 1961, and served her family as a homemaker and her community as a childcare provider. Following the death of her husband she married Wiley Osborn on November 10, 1982, and remained so until her death.
Sister Vivian, as she was affectionately known, was a faithful supporter of The Pentecostals of Eastland in every sense of the word for 55 years. She served as a loving Sunday School teacher to countless children for many years and also blessed many with occasional special singing. She was a staunch supporter of her Pastor and could be counted on to participate in anything going on at her church. Additionally, she also served in the priceless role of a mighty prayer warrior, especially as her health began to fail. Though her body weakened as the years progressed, her spirit grew stronger every day. In her last years she made new, stronger consecrations and experienced many miraculous physical healings. She truly was a beautiful example of a Christian woman.
She is preceded in death by her father Seba Williams, mother Elsie Williams, and first husband Junior Owens.
She is survived by her husband Wiley Wayne Osborn of Eastland, daughter Velda Lucasey of Eastland and son-in-law Patrick. She is also survived by her brother Seba Alonzo Williams of Mansfield, Texas, and wife Charlotte and three nephews: Darrell Williams and wife Melissa, Marty Williams and wife Tonia, and Greg Williams and many great nieces and nephews.
