He was born on January 23, 1942 in Denver, Colorado to John Randolph Riter and Ella Lindsay Bennion.
On December 4, 1978 he married Mildred Marie Tuder in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Marie Riter of Wichita Falls, Texas, daughter, Norma T. Ledbetter (Gary) of Granbury, Texas, brother, Rulon R. Christensen (Donna) of Lakewood, Colorado, sister-in-law, Marlyn M. Riter of Denver, Colorado, and sister, Rebecca L. Black (Robert) of Hurricane, Utah. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Randolph Riter, mother, Ella Lindsay Riter, step-mother, Blanche Christensen Riter, brother, John Randolph Riter, Jr. and daughter, Cynthia M. Casey.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Meriman Cemetery in Ranger, Texas.
