Walter Marlin Wells

Walter M. Wells, age 76, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019. Services for Walter will be at 10AM Monday, September 9, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Ranger. Family and friends will gather on Sunday from 5 – 7 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger. Burial will be at Merriman Cemetery.
Walter was born August 31, 1943 in Lubbock, TX to Bervel and Gladys Cozart Wells. He joined the US Army in Feb of 1961 and served until January of 1964. While in the service, he was recognized as a Sharpshooter (Rifle M-1) and Expert (Rifle M-14). Walter was a Jack of All Trades.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sons; Michael, James and Steven Wells, brothers; Lloyd, Derwood, Virgil, Johnny and Bobby Wells.
Walter is survived by one son Jerry Wells and wife Vicki of Odessa, 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and a sister Betty Ellen Harrell and many nieces and nephews.
