Wanda Bryant, 88, of Carbon, passed away Monday March 16, 2015 in Abilene. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Carbon Community Church with Keith Clower and Jody Forbus officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5~7:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland.
Wanda was born November 3, 1926 in Lamesa to John Charles & Hattie Isabel (Gregory) Donaldson. She was raised in Kokomo and started school in Ranger. She graduated from Carbon High School as Salutatorian. She married Truman Reese Brant on November 30, 1946 in Carbon. She had worked at the Carbon Post office, was the Carbon School Secretary for many years, and later at the Eastland School District. She was a member of the Carbon First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, as well as a member of T.E.A.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman, on September 8, 2014; a daughter, Angie Clower; a sister, Phyllis Wright; and a grandson, Heath Bryant.
Survivors include a son, Truman Douglas Bryant of Carbon; a daughter, Candi Taylor & husband Bobby of Eastland; 3 brothers, Jake Donaldson of Dallas, Glenn Donaldson & wife Joye of Artesia, NM, and Danny Donaldson & wife Judy of Houston; grandchildren, Keith Clower, Wendy Forbus, Heather Poole, Caleb Taylor, Cady Pena, Hannah Bryant, and Jody Marr; great-grandchildren, Nichole Monroe, Jessica Forbus, Austin Forbus, Krista Clower, Devan Clower, Addison Poole, Avery Poole, Blaine Poole, Tess Bryant, Tyler Bryant, Laurel Taylor, and Ruby Blue Pena.
Memorial donations in Wanda’s name may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
