Warren Reynolds Cozby Jr., passed away on December 25, 2024, in Denton, Texas, at the age of 73. Born on July 23, 1951, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Warren was the cherished son of Warren Reynolds Cozby, Sr. and Lilian (Ashcraft) Cozby. He spent his early years in the warm embrace of Hawaiian culture before moving to Texas, where he graduated from Waco High School in 1970.

Pursuing a passion for knowledge, Warren earned degrees from Brigham Young University and North Texas University, ultimately forging a rewarding career as an archeologist, with the U.S. Government Forestry Service. His dedication to uncovering the past and contributing to science reflected his love for history and the natural world.

Warren's talents extended beyond his profession; he found joy in reading, painting, and crafting art sculptures. His literary prowess was evidenced by his authorship of the insightful book, "The Nuts and Bolts of Space Colonization," and he was deeply engaged in the process of writing a follow-up. A man of quiet strength and creativity, he approached life with a simplicity that inspired those around him, never one to complain about the challenges he faced.

As a proud veteran, Warren served in the U.S. Army from November 27, 1973, to November 26, 1976, achieving the rank of E-4 SP4. He remained committed to his Christian faith throughout his life, finding peace and solace in his beliefs.

Warren is survived by his son Michael Cozby, daughter Heather Cozby and five grandchildren; two brothers; Robert Cozby of Sturgeon Bay, WI and Oliver Cozby and wife Dana of Cleburne, TX: two sisters, Jean Treadwell of Edgewater, FL, and Ceci Hanson of Roundrock, TX. His impact on their lives will be cherished forever.

A graveside service to honor Warren's life and legacy will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on January 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM. with Rev. Oliver Cozby officiating. The family invites those who knew and loved him to join in celebrating a life well lived and to pay their respects to a remarkable man whose spirit will forever resonate in their hearts.

In the memory of Warren, may we all remember the beauty of simple living, the importance of family, and the wonders of exploration that he so deeply valued.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents; Warren Sr. and Lillian Cozby; brother, Roland Cozby and sister, Mary Dill.
