Wesley Allen Dillard

GORDON - Wesley Allen Dillard passed from this life Saturday April 4, 2015. A visitation will be held Monday, April 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Edwards Funeral Home Strawn, Texas. A Graveside Service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at New Gordon Cemetery Gordon, Texas.
Wesley was born June 20, 1918 in Mingus, Texas to Allen (Pete) Dillard and Oma Dovie Blue. He received his GED High School Diploma. Wesley married Wilma Estalene Downey February 10, 1946 in Jean, Texas. He worked for many years for the Texas Highway Department and was Superintendent of the Gordon location from 1967 to 1979. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Wesley loved to fish and travel.
Survivors include his wife Wilma Estalene, one son Jack Dillard and wife Linda, two daughters Mary Abrahams and husband Lonnie, and Deb Stowe, 5 grandchildren: Robert Dillard, Lori Leak, Melanie Cavazos, Bobby Abrahams and Wesley Abrahams, eight great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Omer Dillard.
