William M. (Bill) Clements died July 18, 2015 at the age of 84. Services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, July 22nd at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland; burial will follow at Eastland City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 21st from 5-7 PM also at the Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home Eastland. The family would like to invite relatives for a lunch at First Baptist Church of Eastland at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2015.
He was born January 20, 1931 to John D. and Eunice (Slaughter) Clements of Eastland County. He graduated from Morton Valley School in 1948, later graduated from North Texas University with B.A Degree in 1959 and from Western Michigan University with a M.A. Degree in 1972.
He served in the U.S. Navy four years from 1950 to 1954 on the ship “U.S. Monongahela”
Bill married Edna Pauline Latham July 29, 1955 in Eastland. He taught at Haltom High School from 1959 to 1966. The family moved to Grand Junction, CO where Bill taught at Palisade High School for 26 years from 1966 to 1992. Bill was a member of the MVEA, CEA, ELKS, and American Legion. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter, and loved camping.
Bill is survived by his wife Pauline Clements; son, Steve Clements of Mancos, CO, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
