William Michael Blakely passed away April 17, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He was tired and closed his eyes to rest. A memorial service for Mike will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, 411 S. Mulberry, Eastland, TX.
Mike was born October 3, 1948 to William Buster Blakely and Lillian Gilley Blakely in Waco TX. Mike attended Dublin High School. He married Barbara Matus on September 22, 1978 in Seymour TX. He was sewing machine mechanic for Russell Newman Mfg for 17 years, a plant manager for Eastlander Designs for 9 years, sold and installed draperies and blinds for several years and was a sewing machine operator and mechanic for ClearGuard Products. He loved to hunt, fish and watch old westerns (black and white TV as Reese called it) and wrestling on Monday and Tuesday nights.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Blakely, daughter Tamie and husband Mike Hemmingson of Aztec, NM, son Chris and wife Missy Blakely of El Dorado, AR, grandchildren; Loren, Vance, Paige, Nikki and Reese; Sister, Teri Blakely Fincher of Dublin TX and nephews, Ryan and Colin Fincher, and Blaine Clay, Also Katy, Hanna, Blake and his loving Aunt May.
The family would like thank Dr. Robert Deluca, Ranger Care Center, Eastland Memorial Hospital, ER Dr. Farley, Care Flight, Hendrick Hospital, Dr. Mori, and RN Jennifer and all the many care givers who were not mentioned. Special Thanks to Tim Dame. Also, Christine with Interim Hospice and her son Evan. Evan is an amazing young man who sang to Mike his last day at Ranger Care Center. Mike loved it.
