Mary Zoanne Felts, 85, of Eastland, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 14, 2022. Zoanne was born to Barron and Lillian Lindsey in 1937 in New Hope,Texas. She attended elementary school at New Hope and Avoca, and graduated from high school at Stamford,Texas in1954.
Zoanne met the love of her life, Carol Felts, while at church camp at the Lueders Baptist Encampment. They married in 1955 at the New Hope Baptist Church and together raised four sons.
Zoanne was an accomplished pianist and taught piano for most of her life, privately and at the South Texas Children's Home in Pettus, Texas where she and Carol were employed for many years. After moving to Knox City, Texas in 1980, Zoanne played the piano for the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Zoanne also had many other jobs, from housewife and mother, to church secretary, working for The Soil Conservation Service, and owning a forklift business.
Zoanne was preceded in death by her parents, Barron and Lillian Lindsey, her husband Carol Felts, and her sister Bettie Sansom. She is survived by her four sons and their wives, Tim and Cyndi Felts of Salado, Tab and Jo Ann Felts of Eastland, Todd and Mayme Felts of Magnolia, and Ted and Cathy Felts of Eastland; 7 grandchildren-Trey Felts, Megan Gill, T.J. Felts, Austin Felts, Kyra King, Randall Felts and Garrett Jones; and 5 great-grandchildren-Farrah Felts, Everett Gill, Krysta King, Xavier Felts, and Taya Felts.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 17th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland. A graveside service will be held at the Clearfork Cemetery in Lueders, TX on Monday, July 18th at 3 p.m.
